Description On this self-guided tour, you'll experience Lucerne's very own mountain.

A dragon stone is said to have fallen from the sky in 1420, Roman governor Pontius Pilate is buried in Lake Pilatus, and a petrified man stands guard outside a cave. The Pilate massif, which dominates the whole region from its height of 2128 meters, undoubtedly stimulates the imagination. Even today, Pilatus offers visitors many mystical discoveries and fabulous pieces of nature.

Travel on a panoramic gondola to the top of Mount Pilatus, enjoy the new "Dragon ride" designed with large windows as if you were flying. Admire 73 Alpine peaks. You can find restaurants and terraces with a magnificent view from the top at 2132 meters.

Take a ride back with the steepest cogwheel railway in the world, then descend to Alpnachstad, where you will enjoy a pleasant 15-minute cruise to Lucerne.
